Portal
Access all the power and possibilities of Visibility
A Visibility PortalTM is the entry point for access to all other
Visibility tools, content, content access features, and user management. The Visibility Portal
application is designed to support the specific requirements commonly found in teacher
professional-development facilitation models: a blended version combining face-to-face and
online facilitation, completely online facilitated, and completely online unfacilitated.
Primary features of the Portal application
- Work Groups provide collaboration between
workgroup members, and, for the leader(s) of the workgroup, facilitation and management
features.
- Browsing Tools provide individual users with
efficient access to Course, Task, Video Case, and Forum content on a portal site.
- Course Management gives users the ability to
create and publish rich courses using other learning objects such as Video Cases, Tasks, Forums
and Lesson Planning. Courses can be built as a collaborative effort and may be private or
offered for sale.
- Portal Owner Management provides flexibility to
the portal administrator. Flexibility is built in to allow portal administrators to modify
color schemes, logos, home pages and features available to the end user.
Underlying all of LessonLab's software is an authentication architecture to control access to
the digital libraries. These access privileges are set by an administrator, and then by the
system's individual users. A teacher workgroup, for example, may allow only its members to
access content as they develop it. Later, they can decide to allow public, nationwide access.
