Computer Applications and Technology for Teaching Math

Course Description
In this course, participants will be introduced to tools and applications technology that are available to enhance student learning in mathematics. Participants will explore and evaluate mathematics, technology, and teacher "help" sites available via the Internet, and examine pedagogical issues related to mathematical content enhanced by technology. Core questions addressed in the course include:
  • What is technology?
  • What influence does technology have on integrating mathematics into other curricular areas?
  • What technological tools can you incorporate into mathematics instruction to facilitate student learning?
Course Features and Materials
This course features video with classroom teaching and expert commentary, graduate-level texts, participant forums to promote in-depth discussion, and an application-based approach to assignments to ensure transfer of learning.
