Language, Literacy and Technology

Course Description
This course focuses on the development of literacy through the infusion of technology, thinking and process skills across the curriculum. Participants learn to develop literacy in their students to support learning as well as personal and academic achievement. Core questions addressed in the course include:
  • How can teachers develop lessons that promote literacy?
  • What should teachers consider when developing a classroom environment that supports literacy?
  • How can teachers from various content areas create sensory-rich environments that will engage students in language arts and technology skills?
  • How can teachers help students build knowledge and construct meaning when the material is new, complex, or highly abstract?
  • How can teachers measure literacy growth over a period of time?
