Integrating Math Across the Curriculum

Course Description
This course introduces participants to the multidimensional teaching strategy of curriculum integration focused on integrating math throughout the curriculum. Participants learn the elements of curriculum integration, explore the rationale for curriculum integration and integrating math throughout the curriculum, and learn how to select and apply integration models based on teaching situations and curricular goals. Core questions addressed in the course include:
  • What does an integrated curriculum look like and sound like?
  • How can teachers integrate math effectively across the curriculum?
  • How can teachers create integrated and interdisciplinary units of mathematics instruction that effectively align curriculum, standards, instruction, and assessment?
Course Features and Materials
This course features video with classroom teaching and expert commentary, graduate-level texts, participant forums to promote in-depth discussion, and an application-based approach to assignments to ensure transfer of learning.
