Teaching Strategies for the Inclusive Classroom

Course Description
This course introduces teaching and learning in an inclusive classroom. Participants will develop the skills to collaborate with colleagues in planning and implementing curriculum, instruction, and assessment in an inclusive classroom, and will be introduced to how to differentiate and modify instruction, and assessment. Core questions addressed in the course include:

What does the law require for inclusion?
How can the regular classroom teacher plan for inclusion?
How should the inclusive student be assessed?
What kinds of collaborative efforts are needed for successful inclusion?

Course Features and Materials
This course features video with classroom teaching and expert commentary, graduate-level texts, participant forums to promote in-depth discussion, and an application-based approach to assignments to ensure transfer of learning.
