Managing the Interactive Classroom

Course Description
This course introduces the primary research in classroom management. This course focuses on organizing the classroom for an enriched environment, choosing the rules and procedures for classroom management, and setting high standards for all students through curriculum and instructional design. Core questions addressed in the course include:
  • How does good classroom management lead to more effective curriculum and instruction?
  • How does good teaching lead to good classroom management?
  • Why is it important to foster an intellectually and emotionally safe environment for students?
  • How does addressing multiple intelligences impact classroom climate, affect student behavior, and facilitate learning?
  • What are appropriate ways to handle minor and serious disruptions and behavior problems in the classroom?
  • How can you seamlessly integrate special-needs students into the classroom?
